Empowerment: The Four Pillars of Transformation

“The word ‘patient’ comes from the Latin word pati, which means both ‘to suffer’ and ‘to allow’ or ‘to submit’”. - Radical Remission

As we continue diving into the Four Pillars of Transformation, we come to the 2nd pillar: Empowerment. In Vision, we talked about how empowerment comes from knowledge and wisdom. When we attain wisdom and knowledge, we demystify what cancer is and how to help the body heal itself. We also realize we are not the first to attempt an integrative approach, and that many before us have actually survived their advanced cancers against all odds. Suddenly we breathe new life into our previous sense of hope which relied purely on luck. Now the power is in our hands. This is the vibration we wish to impart through knowledge and wisdom, knowing the root causes of cancer, and how to help the body heal itself.

As stated before, the default state of any organism on this planet is health. Contrary to what we’ve been told, disease, illness, and even death is not a defect of the human design. It is not random either. Everything has a purpose in this reality, which is in accordance with the universal laws of cause and effect. Let us explain a bit more about how that works.

Neuroscience tells us that our thoughts (and the emotions, behaviors, habits and decisions that stem from them) are operating out of our subconscious mind over 95% of our waking life; which means we are not consciously aware of what we are doing the vast majority of the time. The subconscious mind is essentially like a computer program that has been conditioned by all of our past experiences, traumas, the music/movies/tv we consume, messages from society, and even our own thoughts which act to reinforce our past which form our beliefs and opinions.

When we look at it this way, we have to ask: what is the quality of our programming in the 21st century? What are we being told since we were born about what is important in life? What are we meant to value? Where are we to source love and acceptance? Are we to feel safe in this world? How are we meant to nourish our bodies? How are we meant to feel about other people who do not align with our beliefs and opinions?

We are all unknowingly subjected to such subconscious programming, which eventually creates disease in the body. But we are only victim to that which we are not aware of. As soon as we become aware, we now have the ability to choose differently, and that is true empowerment. In the case of cancer, we have been told many things that incite feelings of fear and hopelessness; but that is only a fraction of the whole story. We’re here to fill in the missing pieces.

The reason cancer is now happening at a rate of 1 in every 2 people is because we are surrounded by a toxicity that prevents us from self-correcting and healing the way we are designed to. All of us are equipped to handle cancerous cells on a daily basis. It’s only when the pathways to self-healing become blocked that cancerous cells are given free reign to multiply into a tumor.

When this occurs, the first instinct is to rush to remove it by any means necessary from the body. But we don’t stop to ask, why has this occurred in the first place? What is the root cause of this disease? If we just remove the tumor (the symptom) from the body, what’s to stop the original cause from creating the identical effect again in the future?

What we are advocating for here is to give our love and attention to the overall state of our health so that the body can return to its original state of self-healing capabilities. What is done to remove the cancer using conventional therapies is entirely up to the individual. But know that treating the root cause at the same time can be incredibly powerful when combined with any other symptom-level approach.

So, what are the root causes of cancer? As stated before, it is anything that creates blockages to the body’s self-healing ability to remove toxic foreign bodies and cancerous cells on its own. There are physical factors that do this, and then there are psycho/spiritual/emotional factors. We believe the latter is even more important, but the non-physical factors are at minimum equally worthy of our careful attention.

When it comes to the physical factors, we’re referring to diet, (which includes what and how you eat), environmental toxins, chemicals in household/cosmetic products, pharmaceuticals, physical activity.. the list goes on.

Non-physical factors have more to do with our mindset (and everything that stems from that). How are we feeling on a daily basis when we wake up? Are we happy with our life? Are we surrounded by people who make us joyous? Do we have good relationships? Do we love what we’re doing with our career? Are we easily bothered by other people that do not align with our way of being? Do we feel safe in this world? How do we handle ourselves when things get difficult? Do we feel valued? Do we feel loved?

The culmination of all of the non-physical factors mentioned above creates a chronic state of what we call stress. When the body is in stress, it operates in a completely different physiological state than when it is relaxed. Our body’s nervous system is designed to handle acute states of stress so that we can efficiently respond to threats, and then quickly return to our normal state of rest, digest, and repair. But today in the 21st century, we are wired for chronic stress from the very beginning. Many of us do not even remember what it feels like to be truly relaxed. To make matters worse, many of us are addicted to caffeinated beverages and energy drinks which chemically induce our stress response further.

“When we are in a state of stress, we cannot properly digest our food; which means instead of absorbing vital nutrients essential to life, we create blockages in the primary elimination pathways, which is the root of many chronic diseases like cancer.”

It also means we significantly diminish our immune system’s ability to do what it does best, self-heal the body. A state of stress is a state of dis-ease. When it is in chronic stress, over time we will inevitably develop chronic disease, with cancer being one of the most serious.

But when we understand the root causes of what takes away the body’s ability to self-heal, we can begin to correct these areas immediately while undergoing conventional treatment to deal with the tumor. We can begin to clean up our diet and eat real whole foods, particularly the ones that will most help the body to detoxify and induce the self-healing process. We can drop the obligations in life that no longer serve or excite us, and switch to something that is more in alignment with the heart. We can cut out all the toxic relationships in life and instead surround ourselves with people that love and support us unconditionally. We can stop obsessively consuming depressive news, movies and tv that are over-stimulating to the mind/body as well as electronic devices that mindlessly tell us what to think and how to feel. We can start to discover the myriad of amazing natural therapies that accelerate the process of detoxification and tumor suppression. We can fill more of our day with gratitude and activities that give us joy.

This is what it looks like to take control of our own health. ‘Taking control of your health’ turns out to be one of the 9 key factors in those who achieved their own radical remission. The other factors confirm the alternative perspective that cancer is actually our greatest ally rather than enemy. When we take the time to commune with ourselves on this level, our actions turn out to be very different than merely following the doctor’s orders like a good patient. We may still decide to involve aspects of the standard of care in our treatment plan, but the feeling will be completely different. And the difference in feeling between an inner choice guided by love and an outer compliance driven by fear, is healing

Belief is the 3rd pillar of transformation. The typical belief system that surrounds cancer is quite grim and disempowering. You may take extra efforts to improve your health, but if your belief is not truly behind the actions you take, you won’t maximize your potential...
The fourth and final Pillar of Transformation has to do with commitment to what you are setting out to do. When you become empowered by what needs to be done, and have belief that is in alignment with a higher vision of what is possible, what remains is executing on the steps required.

Deciding to change your life is a powerful, hopeful act that sets a journey of growth and transformation in motion. When we embrace the essential pillars of health—diet, exercise, detox, digestion, sleep, hydration, mindset, and even mindful chewing—we create a foundation that uplifts both mind and body, helping us thrive.
